They will compare and contrast the two groups. Students will complete a triple Venn diagram reviewing all three religions we've learned about: Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. Many students are missing one or more assignment. I am providing you the opportunity to earn partial credit, up to 50%, for the completion of modified assignments that will replace the 0 that is currently in the grade book. Once you have completed an assignment it is YOUR responsibility to email me and let me know. Once I am aware of the assignment I can go back, check it, and place the grade in the grade book. Advisement Class- STEAM Day! Activity to be Announced! 1st Period and 5th Period- Synchronous Live Opening: Today's focus is on the religion of Islam. The teacher will check for previous knowledge of religions by having students complete a bubble map with the information they already know and share together as a class. The teacher may show the first two minutes of BrainPOP video introducing religion in general https://www.brainpop.com/socialstudies/culture/religion/ The teacher will then run a live Nearpod session about Islam. Students will have an organizer in which they must fill in with facts about the religions. The Nearpod will include a Flocabulary rap video introducing the religions, a PowerPoint detailing their origins, and an outline of the Abrahamic Genealogy Tree. Furthermore, students will watch informative videos explaining some of the traditions and beliefs. Today we will continue with the "What's the Cost of Water?" IDM. We will work on Task 4, Article 3. Virtual students will complete the assignment in Class notebook. Face to Face students have already received a hard (paper) copy of today's assignment or if they have their own devices they may complete it in Class notebook as well. During Asynchronous Time, students will read Article 3 to themselves. Struggling readers may utilize the Immersive Reader tool through Word. During Synchronous Time, we will watch the Isis and Two Rivers video. As a class we will answer a few questions together, and then the students will answer the rest of the questions on their own. During Synchronous Time closing, We will review the remaining answers from today's class. Once that is completed, the students will complete an EdPuzzle activity. In our study of these regions, we will be emphasizing the five main components of Social Studies: geography, history, economics, government, and culture (please note that this includes the world’s major religions).
