A Day- Monday, 10/26/2020
Advisement Class- Today is "Reading for Enjoyment!" Have your favorite or current book handy and lets drop everything and read! I will am reading "Why are all...", By Dr. Beverly Tatum. Remember, there are REP points to be earned for being prepared with your own book! 1st Period and 5th Period- We will take a few minutes to review the school-wide PBIS expectations. Today we will continue with the "What's the Cost of Water?" IDM. We will work on Task 4. Virtual students will complete the assignment in Class notebook. Face to Face students will continue with the hard (paper) copy of today's assignment or if they have their own devices they may complete it in Class notebook as well. During Synchronous Time, We will be continuing to work through the IDM on water scarcity. Today we will be reading and analyzing documents. These are located in the packet for F2F and on Class Notebook for virtual students. As a whole class read Middle East Water Wars. While reading the model on how to highlight the document using the board that has been shared with the virtual students. Once the article has been read, complete the Summary question sheet (during Asynchronous). During Asynchronous Time, Students will use the methods modeled during Synchronous learning to complete article #3, Conflict Over Water: Damming of the Tigris and Euphrates. They will also complete Articles #1 and #2, as necessary. Circulate/check Class Notebook to note progress and challenges to address. Use chat feature for virtual help. During Synchronous Time Closing, As a whole group, we will discuss the final article(s) to ensure that all students understood. Focus on "what" and the appropriate way to use exact evidence: - Use quotations - Cite the source (article, video, map) IDM Task #4 Article 1 (Modified) Article 2 (Modified) Article 3 (Modified) Conflict over the Jordan River video Isis and the two rivers video B-Day- Tuesday, 10/27/2020 Advisement Class- "Hispanic Heritage Month" Day. Students will read a NewsELA article and complete the attached form. Today's Assignment is the same as Monday's, October 26, 2020. See above.
