A Day- Monday, 12/14/2020 Advisement Class- Today is "Reading for Enjoyment!" Have your favorite or current book handy and lets drop everything and read! I will am reading "Why are all...", By Dr. Beverly Tatum. Remember, there are REP points to be earned for being prepared with your own book! Feel free to read the NewsELA article about the Ottoman Empire and complete the article analysis form. Choose the Lexile number closes to yours. You can earn extra credit points towards your upcoming quiz or test, your choice! Lexile 610 Lexile 970 Lexile Max Article Analysis Form 1st Period and 5th Period- Synchronous Live Opening: Students will participate in a quick kinesthetic review of the Persian Gulf War and the Invasion of Afghanistan, before taking notes on the Invasion of Iraq. Students will then take an open-notes Ticket Out the Door or Over the Internet, that covers all three conflicts. SW Asia Wars Ticket Over the Internet Students will then begin the Poetry/Rap lesson. Students will receive instructions on how to create a rap that answers the following question: "What led to U.S. involvement in the Middle East (Southwest Asia)?" Students will use their notes to construct a rap three verse rap, with hook/chorus.
