A Day- Monday, 1/11/2021 Advisement Class- Today is "Reading for Enjoyment!" Have your favorite or current book handy and lets drop everything and read! I will be reading "Cultivating Genius", by Dr. Ghouldy Muhammad. Remember, there are REP points to be earned for being prepared with your own book! Feel free to read the NewsELA article about the African Geography and complete the article analysis form. Choose the Lexile number closest to yours. You can earn extra credit points towards your upcoming quiz or test, your choice! Lexile 610 Lexile 800 Lexile 920 Lexile 1040 Article Analysis Form 1st Period and 5th Period- Synchronous Live Opening: Students will identify and label several countries, physical features and climate zones on a map of the continent of Africa. Students will be shown several videos and images to faciliate this process. There are also several maps in the classroom that students will have the option to look at as well. Students will then read an article about the four climate zones that are covered in this region. The Sahara (desert), Sahel, Savanna, and the Tropical Rainforest. Students will be able to state where people live, what type of work they do, and how they travel in a specific climate zone from the reading. Students will then create a Postcard of one of the climate zones from today's class. The postcard most contain the following information:
